Dr. F. Gregory Ashby is Professor and Chair of the Department of Psychology, University of California, Santa Barbara. He received his BS in Mathematics and Psychology from the University of Puget Sound and his PhD in Cognitive/Mathematical Psychology from Purdue University. Greg is particularly interested in understanding how people categorize objects and events in their environment, and in developing and testing neurobiologically plausible mathematical models. His research combines a three-pronged approach: empirical data collection, cognitive neuroscience, and mathematical modeling.
